The Havasu Classic Chevy car club was founded in the summer of 1996 on a back porch by three families, the Bogers, the Hanks, and the Martins, each owning a '55, a couple of '56's and a '57 respectively.  Officers were appointed, over lunch at the local Pizza Hut, a week later.  Their next get together was held at Arby's to write up a set of by-laws, establish a monthly meeting date, and set the amount of yearly dues. At the first official meeting they added three new families to the roster.  The following meeting was held at the Holiday Inn where they added 3 more families and the club has been growing steadily every since.

The club was originally founded as the "Classic Chevy Club". However, they found that in a small community this truly limits membership.  Over the years they  broadened their horizons to welcome anyone dedicated to the preservation and restoration of classic cars, and they invite all who share our interest to join us.

Each year we host a "Show 'n Shine" event which is our primary fund raiser.  The charities who  benefit from our efforts are local.  Also, during the Holidays each year we adopt people who otherwise might not have such a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.

This is a fun loving club.  We participate in most of the local activities, and have a get together and cruise whenever possible. If said activities involve food, you better look out.  With beautiful Lake Havasu only a stones throw away, Laughlin, NV, close and the longest stretch of Route 66 still in existence right around the corner, we are never at a loss for outings, cruising, fun, and adventure.

On August 7th, 2001, the name of the club was officially changed from the "Havasu Classics Chevys" to "HAVASU CLASSICS".
