The Havasu Classic Chevy's car club was founded in the summer of 1996 on a back porch by three families, the Bogers, Hanks, and Martins, each owning a '55, a couple of '56's and a '57 respectively. Officers were appointed over lunch as the local Pizza Hut a week later. By-laws were written and we established our monthly meeting date, amount of yearly dues and it was held at Arby's. At the first meeting we established our monthly meeting date, amount of yearly dues and added three new families to our roster. The following meeting was held at the Holiday Inn, adding 3 more families and have been growing steadily every since.
This club was originally founded as a CLASSIC CHEVY Club, however, we found that in a small community this truly limits membership. Over the years we have broadened our horizon to welcome anyone dedicated to the preservation and restoration of all classic cars. And, we invite all who share our interest to join us.
Each year we host our "Show 'n Shine". This event is our primary fund raiser. The charities which benefit from our efforts are local. Also, during the Holidays each year we adopt people who otherwise might not have such a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.
This is a fun loving club. We participate in most of the local functions, have a get together and cruise whenever possible and if said activities food you better look out. With beautiful Lake Havasu only a stones throw away, Laughlin, NV, close and the longest stretch of Route 66 still in existence right around the corner, we are never at a loss of outings, traveling, fun and adventures.
On August 7th, 2001, the name of the club was officially changed from the Havasu Classics Chevy to HAVASU CLASSICS
